The Northeastern State women’s golf team has been selected to compete in the 2013 NCAA Division II Central Super Regional Championship, the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Committee announced Monday in a press release on NCAA.com.
The NCAA Central Regional will feature nine schools and four individuals, and the tournament will be contested May 5-7 at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo. Missouri Western State University will serve as the host institution.
Northeastern State was selected as the No. 3 seed in the region, and the team will be making its fourth-straight appearance in the NCAA’s. The RiverHawks have also now qualified for 12 of the last 14 NCAA regional championships.
The only other school from the MIAA to earn a bid into the NCAA regional this season was league champion Central Oklahoma. Both schools are new to the conference this year.
The tournament will consist of 54 holes of competition. The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each of the four super regionals will advance to the final site.
The 2013 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships will be held May 15-18 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
