NSU duo nabs All-Region golf honors

The Northeastern State men’s golf team placed two members on the 2013 Division II PING All-Central Region team, announced on Tuesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Senior Kyle Fouts and junior Zach Tucker were both honored by the GCAA, picking up regional accolades.

Fouts was the low finisher for Northeastern State in four tournaments this past year. He finished in the top 10 overall at four tournaments, which included a season-best tied for sixth at the Pittsburg State Invitational.

Tucker led the RiverHawks at five events, and he recorded three top-10s this season. His best finish was a tie for second at the MWSU Invitational, and he also finished eighth at the 2013 NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Super Regional.

A total of 109 players across eight regions — East, Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, South Central, Central, and West — earned all-region honors for 2013.
