Services for Cherrie Imogene (Dumond) Johnson will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Matthew Wilson officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Muskogee. Online condolences may be left at www.reedculver. com.

Cherrie Imogene (Dumond) Johnson was born Nov. 9, 1931, near Fort Gibson, to Harry and Ollie (Benge) Dumond.
Cherrie attended Manard School until the middle of the eighth-grade, then the family moved to the Mt. Zion Community where she finished eighth grade.
She graduated from Bagley High School in Tahlequah in May 1948. She then worked for Aetana Insurance Company in Tulsa as a clerk/typist for the next three years. On Dec. 9, 1950, she married Charlie Percy Johnson in Tahlequah, where they shared 57 happy years.
He was a career Army soldier and they traveled to various Army bases with a tour in Germany. After his retirement in 1965, they moved back to Tahlequah, and Cherrie began working for Hinds Department Store, and then retired after 26 years as a bookkeeper/secretary.
Cherrie was a Christian by faith and a member of Blue Springs General Baptist Church in Gideon. She served the Lord by teaching Sunday school.
She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed quilting. She was the current President of the Resident Council of Heritage Place Assisted Living Center. Cherrie was preceded in death by her husband in February 2008; her parents; four brothers, Herbert Dumond, Frank Du-mond, Van Peebles and Johnnie Dumond; two sisters-in-law, Louise Dumond and Susie Peebles.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Lee (Johnson) Seals of Broken Arrow; a son, Kenneth C. Johnson of Tahlequah; a “Favorite” grandson, Jeffrey Seals and wife Valerie of Las Vegas; a “favorite” granddaughter, Jentri (Seals) Guinn and husband Tim of Porter; and three “special” great-granddaughters, Kailey Jordan, Kendall Neilee and Karlie Grace Guinn of Porter, Oklahoma. She is also survived by a sister, Coralee Webb and husband, Jim of Wagoner; and two sisters-in law, Laverne Dumond of Wagoner, and Rose Dumond Tramel of Tahlequah; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
