Richard Warren was born Dec. 28, 1950, in Wagoner to Estus Hugh Warren and Wanda Marie (Lawson) Warren. He passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 18, in Tahlequah, after reaching the age of 62 years.
Richard grew up on a farm near Clear Creek attending Hinton, Lost City, and Hulbert Schools. As a boy, he enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, showing pigs, and cattle in 4-H, and helping his dad on the 240-acre farm.
When company came, he often would catch the horses so everyone could ride. He loved horses and his coon dogs.
Richard married Glenda Faye Walker on March 1, 1971, in Wagoner. They later had six children and lived on the family farm.
Richard was a carpenter working with wood projects and building the home they lived in. He was an outdoorsman, once saying he should have lived 100 years ago. He was a farmer, hard-working, honest, with old-fashioned values. He loved horses and owned a few buggies. He was a man of few words but liked to joke and was thoughtful.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother and father, Estus and Wanda Warren; grandparents, Nathan and Cora Warren; Maggie and Coy Young, and Onus Lawson; and an infant son, Clinton Alan Warren.
He is survived by his children, Joyce Tedder and husband Tony of Hulbert, Tracy Reagan of Tahlequah, Charlotte Whitekiller and husband Hank of Hulbert, Richard Warren Jr., Brandon Warren and wife Amber, and Renae Warren all of Collinsville; four siblings, Sue Nichols and husband Dale of Hulbert, Curtis Warren and wife Sandy of Locust Grove, Donna Warren of Wagoner, and Marcia Moore and husband Gary of Broken Arrow; his stepfather, Bobby Nicholas of Hulbert; 13 grandchildren, Tyler, Aleah, Dusty, and Wyatt Dale Tedder, Hunter, Maggie Lee and Tanner Reagan, Nathan and Bryce Warren, Katelynn, Kelton and Kia Whitekiller, and Brandon Lee Warren.
