TAHLEQUAH — TAHLEQUAH – Services for Elmo Eddings will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at the Hart Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Lloyd Coppedge officiating. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Elmo Franklin Eddings, son of Frank and Caroline (Criner) Eddings, was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Coalgate, and departed this life on Aug. 20, 2013, in Tahlequah, at the age of 91 years, nine months and five days.

Elmo enjoyed life and loved to fish, work in his garden, hunt squirrels, and just spend time outside. He lived on the Barren Fork Creek and loved being out in the beauty that God made. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elmo touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Elmo was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Evelyn Eddings; and his siblings Orville Eddings, Alice Eddings, Jessie Greenhaw, Bill Eddings, J.C. Eddings, and Baley Eddings.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his children Charline Long and husband J.C. of Tahlequah, LaDonna Caviness of Tahlequah, Tommy Eddings and wife Alene of Hulbert, Sue Shankle and husband Audie of Tahlequah and Bonnie Kile and husband Paul of Hulbert; two sisters, Bethel Lee of Coalgate and Mae Todd of Ada; two sisters-in-law, Christine Eddings of Coalgate and Rosalie Jenkins of Purcell; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
