TAHLEQUAH — Services for Daniel Scott Bruner, 52, of Tahlequah, will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Green Country Funeral Home, with Minister John Moles and Katrina Hudson officiating. Interment will be held in Muskogee at a later date.

Daniel Scott Bruner was born Dec. 27, 1960, in Tahlequah, at W.W. Hastings Hospital, the son of Rudolf Bruner and Juanita Starr Bean Chilson. Scott passed away on Aug. 19, 2013 after a courageous two years with cancer.

Scott was saved at an early age and was baptized by Rev. Hart at First Southern Baptist Church in Paramount, Calif.

He grew up in California, where he attended Bethany Baptist, Lakewood Junior High and Neff High School. He completed his high school education at Job Corps in Tahlequah.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Rachel Marie Bruner in 2011; grandparents, Johnny and Mary Bean, Richard Bruner and Lizzie Leader.

Scott is survived by his minor children, Derrick Scott and Brooklyn Starr of the home; his mother, Juanita Chilson; father, Rudy Bruner; and aunt, Edna Strickler, all of Tahlequah; two brothers, Terry “Chief” Bruner of Park Hill, and Dennis Bruner of La Mirada, Calif. He is also survived by three nephews, two nieces, five great-nieces, many close cousins, and faithful friends.
