TAHLEQUAH — Services for Ora Lee Sunday will be at a later date at the Welling General Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Duvall officiating. Private committal services will be in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in the Pilgrim Rest Community of Stilwell. Services are entrusted to the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Ora Lee Sunday, the daughter of Zachriah Taylor and Flossie Irene (Tribble) Masterson, was born Oct. 30, 1914 in Fort Smith, Ark. and departed this life on Monday, Dec. 16 in Tahlequah, at the age of 99 years, 1 month and 16 days.

Ora Lee married the love of her life, John C. Sunday Sr. on April 29, 1931 in Welling and they made their home in Welling in 1946. Ora Lee loved her family and enjoyed life. She enjoyed her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them.

Ora Lee loved her church and she enjoyed reading and studying her Bible. She enjoyed gardening and working outside around the house. Ora Lee touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John C. Sunday Sr.; two sons, John C. Sunday Jr. and Billy Joe Sunday; three sisters, Eva Turner, Pauline Arnold and Irene Bitting; and her brother, John D. Masterson.

She is survived by a loving family which includes: her children, Herbert C. Sunday and wife Gayle of Tahlequah, Mary Ann Owens of Colombia, Mo., Nick C. Sunday of Welling, Silas T. Sunday and wife Stephanie of Welling, Christine Sunday of Boise, Idaho, Flossie I. Girtie and husband Robert of Tahlequah, Betty J. Wilson and husband Dale of Tahlequah and Terry Wayne Sunday of Welling; her niece, Virginia Williams of Muskogee; her nephews, Louis Watkins and wife Charlotte of Muskogee and Ronnie Watkins and wife Nancy of Tahlequah; 25 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. Many other nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive her.
