Gary George Dance

TAHLEQUAH — Private family services will be held for Gary George Dance at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Please sign our online guestbook at www.hartfuneralhome.com.

Gary George Dance, the son of George and Enid (Kelsey) Dance, was born Feb. 18, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, and departed this life on Sunday, May 4, in Park Hill at the age of 67 years, two months and 16 days.

Gary enjoyed life and all that it had to offer. He served his country proudly as a Corporal in the Marine Corps and received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal with one star and the Good Conduct Medal.

He enjoyed fishing and swimming all over Lake Tenkiller. Gary enjoyed political debate. He did not shy away from expressing his opinions and those who knew him will no doubt miss his sharing of his perspectives on many issues. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed every moment that he was able to spend with his family and friends. Gary was a kind and generous person who touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, George Dance; and his son, Christian Gary Dance.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his children, Aaron Sheldon Dance and wife Angela of Park Hill, Heather Lynn Estes and husband Brent of Tahlequah, Megan Enid White and husband Jason of Sand Springs; his brother, Jon Kelsey Dance and wife Martha of Tulsa; his sister, Karen Janet Anderson Troutman and husband John of Lawrence, Kan.; and six grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
