Elizabeth “Betty” Randolph

PARK HILL — Graveside services for Elizabeth “Betty” Randolph were held Monday, May 12, at Park Hill Cemetery. Officiating was Mother Debora Jennings. Interment followed under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at St. Basil’s Episcopal Church. Elizabeth Aileen (Kerr) Randolph was born Aug. 24, 1925, in Hollywood, Calif., to Harry Allen Kerr and Aileen Elizabeth (Alvarez) Kerr. She passed away on Friday, May 9, in Tahlequah at the age of 88.

Betty grew up in Miami, Fla., and was a 1943 graduate of Miami Edison High School. Following high school she worked for the U.S. Army Civil Defense as a typist. In 1946 she married Frederick Paul Randolph. Betty lived in both Tahlequah and Miami, moving back and forth following construction work. While living in Tahlequah, Betty was employed by Ben Franklin Five and Dime and Consumer’s Market.

Betty loved camping and would take her grandchildren often. She volunteered at St. Basil’s for many years doing clerical work in the office. Betty also volunteered her time as a precinct worker watching over polling locations.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Nita Harbison.

She is survived by her daughter, Nita Hayes and husband Larry of Park Hill; two grandchildren, Wesley Hayes and wife Carla of Park Hill, and Aimee (Hayes) Leep of Tulsa; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Hayes, of Park Hill; and many dear friends and loved ones who will miss her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the memorial fund at St. Basil’s Episcopal Church, 814 N. Vinita Ave., Tahlequah, OK 74464.
