Gary Wayne Holbrook

TAHLEQUAH — Funeral services for Gary Wayne Holbrook will be held on Tuesday, March 18, at 2 p.m. at the Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Charles Duvall officiating.

Pallbearers for Gary include Mike Matthews, Larry Swim, Rick Glory, Patrick Lewis, Garrett Downing, and Bud Wilkinson. Gary will have his final resting place at Mollie Field Cemetery.

Gary was born on December 11, 1948, in Hoisington, Kan., the son of J.C. and Ruby Lee (McGowan) Holbrook.

When Gary was young, the family relocated to Tahlequah, where he attended school at Tahlequah High School, and finished his education at Northeastern State University.

Gary enjoyed being outdoors every chance he got, hunting, fishing, coon hunting, and riding motorcycles.

Gary was quick to make friends and loved sharing a cup of coffee with friends and visiting.

Gary moved to Grand Junction, Colo. to be close to his sister and family there.  Gary was baptized while living in Colorado.

Gary spent his final days in Muskogee, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Gary left this life on Tuesday, March 11, in Muskogee. He was 65 years old.

Gary is preceded in death by his mother and father. Gary is survived by his daughter, Jessica Lewis of Tahlequah; his sister, Cheryl Roberts of Grand Junction, Colo.; his niece, Candice Downing of Grand Junction; as well as many cousins, uncles and a host of friends.
