Elizabeth Claire Caughman

BISHOP, TEXAS — Elizabeth Claire Caughman, age 42, of Bishop, Texas, passed into her Lord Savior’s arms Jan. 15, 2014.

Beth was born in Coushatta, La., on Nov. 28, 1971, to parents Nettie Daily and James Wood. Elizabeth was a devoted daughter, wife, and mother. She had a great love for her family and a very strong faith in God. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.. She served the community as a librarian at the Bishop High School.

She was a member of Eastern Star. Elizabeth found the best in everyone she met and shared her joyful nature with them.

She loved reading, learning, cultivating young minds and spending time with friends, family and students expressing her faith in action. Beth was a doer; she walked in faith. She was a peacemaker and an instrument of the Lord.

Elizabeth is predeceased by her mother. Nettie Daily. Elizabeth is survived by her father, James Wood; husband Jack; daughter Kimberly; and son Jacob. She is also survived by her brother, Scott Powell; her mother- in-law, Evelyn Dick and husband, Ray Dick; her brother-in-law, James Caughman Jr.; and father-in-law, James Caughman. She also laid claim to hundreds of children in the Bishop community that passed through her library doors as her “precious ones.”

The family invites you to come celebrate her life with us.

Elizabeth was a vibrant woman who loved color; she wouldn’t have you to stand on ceremony and wear black unless the need compels you.

We invite you to break out those colors (especially yellow; she loved sunflowers) and celebrate the woman she was.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Bishop High School Auditorium.

If you wish to send flowers, send them to Turcotte Piper Mortuary.  Contributions would be greatly appreciated to a memorial fund that will be established in memory of Elizabeth Claire Caughman.

The family of Elizabeth Caughman wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the generosity shown by Michael Soper, owner of Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, and the staff of Turcotte-Piper Mortuary for their tender affections while assisting us at this time.
