Johnny Bryan Lamons was born on Aug. 14, 1956, in Tahlequah, the son of Leroy and Verlene M. (Bryan) Lamons. He grew up with his parents and his brother Mike. Johnny enjoyed being home with his family. He adored animals – didn’t matter if they were dogs, cats, any animal; Johnny was their friend.
He liked to stay useful around the house and could be found stacking wood or doing odds and ends. He had a spirit of adventure and was willing to try anything from four-wheeling to any adventure his family could imagine. He liked to watch TV, and he really liked the vintage programs like Andy Griffith, Mayberry RFD, and westerns. He adored his nieces and nephews and was always happy when they were there to talk and joke around with him.
About a year ago, Johnny’s health began its slow decent. Johnny was a Christian and a Baptist by faith. The Lord called Johnny to his eternal home on Thursday, Dec. 5 in Tahlequah with his loved ones by his side. Johnny was 57 years old.
Johnny has gone to rest with his parents, and all of his grandparents, Noble and Jessie Bryan, and John “Buster” and Emma Lamons.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brother and his family, Mike Lamons and wife Sherry of Tahlequah. He leaves his nieces and nephews, Lindsey Lamons and companion Dustin Blakely and their son, Cooper of Wagoner, and Brent Lamons and wife Melissa and their daughter, Lynly Lamons, all of Tahlequah. He is survived by many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
