William Don “Bill” Hix

TAHLEQUAH — Services for William Hix will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m., at the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Minister Glenn Winn.

Serving as pallbearers are: Jimmy Eastham, Jake Keys, Brandon Hamilton, Jeff Otken, Adam Hix, Jack Rigsby, Michael Hughes and Danny Hughes.  Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Bill grew up in the Van Alstyne, Texas area. He married Sara Rigsby on Monday, Dec. 24, 1948, and he was a small engine repairman for over 40 years. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ and had done Mission work in Nigeria and India.

Bill has been preceded in death by his parents. Surviving Bill are his wife of nearly 64 years, Sara “Mickie”; children, Denny Hix and wife Becky of Rowlett, Texas, Cindy Strong and husband Brian of Tahlequah, and Jeanette Mills and husband Butch also of Tahlequah; five grandchildren, Adam Hix, Nikki Eastham, Kelly Keys, Tiffany Otken and Laura Hamilton; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Hughes of McKinney, Texas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and loved ones.
