YUKON — Charles Wayne Nottingham, 69, was born October 10, 1944, in Tahlequah, to Charley Odie and Mamie Louise (Medlin) Nottingham. He passed away Sunday, June 1, at his home in Yukon.

Charles moved from Tahlequah to Yukon in 1962. On Nov. 22, 1963, he married Lillie Mae Harris in Yukon. Charles was Yukon’s first paid fireman and worked for the YFD for 23 years.

He also did construction and roofing. He played fast pitch softball and was the pitcher.

He coached softball for 19 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Charles is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lillie of the home; sons, Michael Nottingham of Cedar Lake and Scott Nottingham of Yukon; daughter, Donna Nottingham Campbell and husband Dwayne of Yukon; brothers, Eugene Nottingham and wife Sharon and Billy Ray Nottingham and wife Juanita all of Tahlequah; grandchildren, Brandon Vickers, Charles Vickers, Zachary Smith, Desirae Nottingham, Preston Williams, Amber Getts, and Tye and Mason Campbell; great-grandchildren, Saraya Littlecook, Lillian Getts, Payton Getts, and Conner and Addison Williams; and numerous aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Edward Nottingham.

Funeral services will be noon, Monday, June 9, at Christ’s Church of Yukon. Interment will follow at Yukon Cemetery.
