Minnie Fisher


TAHLEQUAH — Services for Minnie Fisher will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Reed-Culver Chapel, with Clayton Sellers delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Minnie’s grandsons, Roger Dale Harvey, Todd Fisher, David Fisher, Lesley Fisher, Duane Fisher, Eric Fisher, Joe Fisher, Jason Fisher, Frank (Toto) Ybarra, Jay Steeley, Keith Fisher, Michael Fisher, Ryan Nace and Phillip Barnett.

Minnie Fisher was born on May 14, 1914, in Moodys, to Frank and Ada (Beamer) Spradlin. She passed from this life on Tuesday, Feb. 18, in Tahlequah, at the age of 99 years, 9 months and 27 days.

Minnie married Wallace Fisher on October 5, 1933. Together they raised nine children. She worked with her husband as a dairy farmer, but the job she enjoyed the most was being a mom to her nine children and many grandchildren. She was a member of Blue Springs General Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, fishing, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace J. Fisher; her parents; two brothers, Lewis Spradlin and Bill Spradlin; three sisters, Alice, Linnie, and Ruby; two sons, Eugene Fisher and Richard Fisher; three daughters, Gladys Cook, Lula Steeley, and Sharon Fisher; granddaughter, Angela Ruth Fisher; great-granddaughter, Sydney Renae Schwarz; great-grandson, Joshua Harvey; and great-great-grandson, Elijah Harvey.

Survivors include two sons, Ray Dean Fisher and wife Candy of Phoenix, Ariz., and Norman Fisher and wife Jeannie of Tahlequah; two daughters, Barbara Nace and husband Ronnie of Peggs, and Kathy Barnett and husband Paul of Cedarville, Ark.; one sister, Pearl Williams of Peggs; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and many friends and loved ones.
