Services for Lois Ann Applegate will be held Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m., at the Peggs Community Church with Brother Rex Hendrickson officiating.
Interment will follow in the New Home Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home. Viewing will be held Friday from noon until 8 p.m. An online guestbook is available at hartfuneralhome.net.
Lois Ann Applegate, the daughter of James Leonard and Edith Estelle (Freeman) Hood, was born Jan. 20, 1943, in Wagoner, and departed this life on June 12, 2013, in Hulbert, at the age of 70 years, four months and 23 days.
Lois loved life. She enjoyed camping, fishing and working in her flower garden.
She enjoyed crocheting, and has made many bedspreads and afghans over the years.
She loved her family and held a special place for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If her grandchildren or great-grandchildren needed (or wanted) anything she made sure it was taken care of.
Lois enjoyed getting all the family together on holidays and other times because having her family all together made her happy. Lois married the love of her life on May 29, 1961, and spent over 52 years sharing life with him. Lois touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Bonnie Sue Weaver.
She is survived by a loving family, which includes her husband of over 52 years, Gene Applegate of the home; three children, Tommy Applegate and wife Kelly of Tahlequah, Timmy Applegate and wife Tammy of Peggs, and Priacilla Leatherman and husband John of Peggs; sisters, Joyce Whalen of Sapulpa and Latricia Hardesty and husband Jim of Salina; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.
