TAHLEQUAH — Services for Sally Moreton will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Green Country Funeral Home, with Chaplain Paul Tavener officiating.

Pallbearers will be Michael Moreton, John Lohmann, Dennis Smith, Bob Anthony, Carla Cary, and Connie Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Littlejohn, Eric Littig, and Wendell Wyatt. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.

Sally Moreton was born on June 9, 1917, in New York State, to Leo and Helen Kopp. She passed from this life to meet her beloved maker on Sept. 30, 2013, in Tahlequah, at the age of 96.

Sally married Arthur R. Littig in 1965, in Irvington, N.J. After Art’s death, she started and ran her own antique business for more than 40 years.

She was an avid world traveler, church organist, and choir director for more than 40 years. She served First Baptist Church and Sanford Heights Presbyterian Church in Irvington. During this time she also taught music privately and worked at Fidelity Union Bank

In 1986, Sally married Dr. T. Hugh Moreton in New Jersey, and they moved to Go Ye Village. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Tahlequah for many years. She enjoyed going on many cruises with church friends. Dr. Moreton preceded her in death in 2001.

Sally is survived by Mary Moreton, Margie Hamar, Dennis and Ann Smith, Eric Littig, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many cousins, and dear Christian brothers and sisters; Melba Brown, Ila and Charles Littlejohn, Robert and Sharon Anthony, Wanda and Wendell Wyatt, Carla Cary and her caregiver Connie Walker.

The family wishes to thank Blossom Home Health Care and Carter Hospice for their compassion and kindness during Sally’s illness.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a charity of one’s choice.
