Ellavee Dallis

TAHLEQUAH — Services for Ellavee Dallis will be held Friday, Jan. 3, at Reed-Culver Chapel at 1 p.m.

Visitation will be held  Thursday, Jan. 2, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will take place at Tahlequah City Cemetery. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Ellavee Dallis was born on Aug. 17, 1922, in Prairie Grove, Ark., the daughter of James Waller and Stella Lucrecia (Matthews) Grant. She joined 11 brothers and sisters in a large and active household.

She met and married her husband, Herbert “H.H.” Dallis, on Aug. 2, 1941, in Muskogee and together they raised their son, Herbert Dallis, and enjoyed 66 years together. They lived within three miles of where H.H. was born and raised.

Ellavee and her husband owned and operated H.H. Dallis Real Estate, retiring in 1970.

Ellavee was an avid square dance partner with her husband, H.H. Not only did she enjoy the waltz around the floor, she constructed and sewed beautiful square dance garments for others and loved to listen to country and gospel music every chance she got. Ellavee and H.H. enjoyed each other’s company and spent long hours working side by side to keep their business growing.

Ellavee was most proud of her son, Herbert Dallis Jr. She enjoyed keeping up with his accomplishments and those of her adored grandchildren, Danny and Johnny. Anytime spent in their company was a good day for Ellavee.

A Christian by faith, Ellavee was a lifetime member of Southside Baptist Church in Tahlequah.

After her husband’s passing in 2007, Ellavee retired in Tulsa to be closer to her son and his family.

The Lord called Ellavee home from her labors on Sunday, Dec. 29, in Tulsa with her family by her side. Ellavee was 91 years old. She will be greatly missed for her love, her friendship and her many acts of kindness.

Ellavee is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, H.H.; and her 11 brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving son, Herbert Dallis and wife Fredericka of Tulsa; two adored grandsons, Danny Dallis and wife LaRhea of Owasso, and Johnny Dallis of Tulsa; and one very special great-grandson, Logan Dallis, of Owasso. She leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many friends and loved ones.
