TAHLEQUAH — Services for Betty Jean Hoffman will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Green Country Funeral Home, with Rev. Charlie Keim and Mike Newberry officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Stilwell, under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at tahlequahfuneral.com

Betty Jean (Center) Hoffman was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Kan., the only child of Clyde L. and Ella Mildred (Trent) Center. She passed from this life on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Tahlequah, at the age of 89.

She married Dale William Hoffman on March 20, 1952, in Myndon, Neb. Together they raised their only child, Jill. Betty worked as a welder for “the war effort” in California welding on ships, and again making detonators in an ammunition depot in Parsons, Kan.

Betty and Dale moved to Oklahoma in 1960 to manage Caney Ridge Fishing Dock. After selling the dock, they moved to Tahlequah, where Betty was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Welcoming her to her heavenly home will be her husband of 60 years, Dale, who left Nov. 1, 2012; and her parents, Clyde and Ella (Trent) Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Jill Mayberry and husband Charles of Tahlequah; grandchildren, Amy Saxon, Michelle Wallace and Jennifer Wallace; great grandchildren, Madyson and Ruxton; niece, Dorothy of Kansas; as well as other family members and friends.
