Graveside services for Bobby Hooper Sr., are at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Barber Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor John Rozell and Rev. Gil Hooper. Pallbearers are Jimmy Robbins, Johnny Hooper, Tony Davis, Bobby Hooper Jr. Mike Boydston, and Jess Crow.

Bobby Hooper Sr. was born in Tahlequah, Okla., on Dec. 20, 1950, to Sam Hooper and Lizzie Christie) Hooper. He passed away at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at the age of 62.
Bobby grew up in the Dry Creek Community of Cherokee County. He attended Tenkiller School before graduating from Tahlequah High School, where he played football. Following high school, he worked as a roughneck in the oilfields. Later, Bobby would move back to Tahlequah and attend Tulsa Technology Center, where he completed courses for appliance repair technician.
Bobby worked many jobs, ending up with the Cherokee Nation Job Corps in the maintenance department.
He enjoyed fishing with his son, Bobby; attending fishing tournaments and weigh-ins with Sam, his daughter; watching football; going to auctions and yard sales with his daughter Angela; coaching Crystal’s children; and spending time with Johnny Hooper, especially watching him play fast-pitch softball and acting like a sideline coach. And he always loved grilling and family get-togethers.
In the spring of 2012, Bobby was baptized.
Bobby has been preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lizzie; brothers, Jessie Lee Hooper and Richard Hooper; granddaughter, Parker Lynn Davis; and grandson Kole Blair.
He is survived by his children, Angela Boydston and husband Mike, Bobby Dean Hooper Jr. and wife Amanda, Samantha Davis and husband Tony, and Crystal Hooper and companion Jess Crow; sister, Narcie Holcomb; brother, Leo Hooper; 12 grandchildren, Candace Boydston, Dakotah Boydston Tyler James Hooper, Grace Ann Hooper, Laney Brooke Taylor, Abigayle JoDon Hooper, Katelyn Blair, Taylor Davis, Fisher Davis, Payton Crow, Bianca Crow and Jaxon Crow; two great-grandchildren, Madelynn Parker Lamb and Gage Samuel Johnson; and many other extended family members, friends and loved ones.
