Michael Eugene Powers, was born May 2, 1953, in Tahlequah, to Harvey and Hazel Victoria (Calico) Woodward.
Michael was raised and lived in Tahlequah, more specifically the Pumpkin Hollow area, his entire life. Michael provided for his family by working as a diesel mechanic.
He met Cheryl Watkins in high school and they were married on June 1, 2003.
Michael loved his family dearly, and not a single day was better than one in which he got to sit and visit with them.
He was a member of the Shirley Springs Holiness Church, truly loved God and enjoyed attending church as much as possible. Many times, he could be found passing the time by playing the guitar, and singing. Michael was a very kind and loving man who enjoyed life to the fullest, and was always willing to help anyone. Those who knew him best know he was an avid collector of animated Christmas toys, and a very loving husband, father, and friend.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Harvey Powers.
Those left to carry on his legacy include his mother, Hazel; his wife, Cheryl; two sons, Jacob Shankle and wife Leah, and Joshua Shankle; one daughter, Angel Alpough; one brother, Paul Walkingstick; and a grandson, Daniel Shankle, as well as a host of other friends and loved ones.
