Phyllis Ann Pinson, Tahlequah resident, was called home to her eternal rest on Wednesday Sept. 25, 2013, at Eastgate Village in Muskogee. She was 76 years of age.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept.r 30, 2013, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, with Brother Rex Hendrickson officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Phyllis Pinson was born May 15, 1937 in Peggs, one of 10 children born to Clinton Albert and Clarissa (Keaton) Headrick.
She attended school at the New Home School and graduated from Tahlequah High School.
On July 29, 1966, Phyllis married the love of her life, Albert Pinson, in Tahlequah. The couple made their home in Tahlequah.
Phyllis began working as a cook for the Tahlequah schools in 1974 at Tahlequah High School.
She retired from Greenwood Elementary in 1994.
Phyllis is survived by her son Kelly Ellis and his wife Bonnie of Dolores, Colo.; two brothers, Clarence Headrick and Jerry Headrick; three sisters, Cleola Taylor, Charlene Curtis and Christine Wofford; three grandchildren, Makala Fisher, Paul Pinson and David Pinson and two great-grandchildren, Aiden Fisher and Allie Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 2007, her parents and three sisters, Dorene Headrick, Margie Sisney and Carmie Smith and one brother Watie Battenfield.
