Harold Herbert “Butch” Smith was born June 28, 1945, to Eva Smith in Park Hill, and departed this life on May 14, 2013, in Park Hill, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 16 days.
Butch was a member of the Park Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed cutting wood, working around the house in the yard and working on engines. Butch was a fan of both baseball and wrestling. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially the “coffee club” at Jimmy Houston’s Store. Butch was a unique character and touched many lives. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Smith; his uncle, Roy; and aunt Shirley Smith; his uncle, Teede Smith; and his little sister, Loretta Smith.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his cousins, Barbara Hayes and husband David of Park Hill, Troy Smith and wife Julie Diane of Campbellville, Ky., Lee Roy Smith and wife Connie of Tulsa, Ben Smith of Fayetteville, Ark., John Thomas Smith of Tulsa, Nola Lawley and husband Robert of Tulsa, Marsha Cain and husband Mike of Muskogee, Jim Markcloud of Cleveland, Tenn., Jerry and Norma Markcloud of Muskogee, Jason Smith of Tulsa, Jennifer Kester of Park Hill, Melissa Harp and husband Ryan of Tahlequah, Brooke Jones and husband Carl of Fort Sill, Alecia Smith and husband Rusty of Muskogee, Marlena Frye and husband Kyle of Moore, Brandon Smith and wife Cynthia of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Troy Anthony Smith of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., and Rebecca Moore and husband J. of Campbellville, Ky.; he also leaves behind a younger generation which includes Amber Cain, Michael Cain, Adria Kester, Kayleigh Kester, Tessa Kester, Ryelle Forester, Daniel Goad, Ivy Rose Goad, Savannah Smith, Jaylie Moore, Elizabeth Frye, Travis Markcloud, Perry Markcloud, J.J. Markcloud, Alic Hull, Tori Markcloud, Austin Cain, Memphis Cain-Martin and Dayton Markcloud; a host of friends, “The Coffee Club,” at Jimmy Houston’s Store, and many other loved ones also survive him.
