Lloyd Clinton Lesher

TAHLEQUAH — Lloyd Clinton Lesher was born in Maramec, on Dec. 24, 1927, and passed away April 29, 2014, in Tahlequah. He attended school in Maramec. Lloyd served in the Merchant Marines from 1945 to 1947.

Lloyd married his childhood sweetheart, Norma Jean Ritter, Dec. 28, 1946, and his career took them from Oklahoma City to Memphis then Tulsa.

Lloyd worked for Wonder Bread for over 40 years. He and Norma traveled; spending winters in Arizona, spring and fall on Tenkiller Lake, and summers in New Mexico, the Northwest or Alaska. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He is survived by one son, Larry, of Pettit Bay; daughter-in-law LaDonna, of Collinsville; grandchildren Melanie and Brian Beil of Jenks, and Adam and Bertie Lesher of Collinsville; one brother, Oscar Lesher, of Crescent, and one sister, Naomi Ruth Whitaker, of Clinton. His great-grandchildren are Zane, Felicia and Ginger Beil and Elizabeth Rose Lesher.

He was preceded in death by his wife Norma on Jan. 5, 2013; his parents; one son, Mike Lesher; and 14 brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2014, in the Park Hill Cemetery, with Merle Newton and John Shaffer officiating.
