TAHLEQUAH — Services for Evelyn Juanita (Harmon) Hammond, 89, of Tahlequah will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, at the Hulbert City Cemetery. Arrangements have been placed under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.

Evelyn Juanita Hammond was born July 11, 1924, in Quincey, Illinois to Clarence T. Harmon and Jessie Lois (Emerick) Harmon. She passed away on July 27, 2013, at home in the Cherokee County Nursing Center.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Clarence Harmon; her husband of 62 years and six months, John Hammond; two daughters, Ramona Hammond and Debra Cunningham; and a brother, Harold (Si) Harmon.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Powell of Hulbert; sons, John R. Hammond and Roger Hammond both of Tahlequah, OK; son-in-law, Bill Cunningham of Welling, OK; three granddaughters, Rebecca Powell, Jennifer Reynolds and Morgan Thompson; four grandsons, Mike Howell, Eric Hammond, Josh Hammond and Dwight Greer; five great-grandchildren, Alexandria (Lexi), Blake, Jayden, Nathan, and Natasha; her sister Mary Burman of Cleveland, Tenn.; her Cherokee County Nursing Center family; as well as many other relatives, friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
