TAHLEQUAH — Graveside services for Eleonore E. Johnson, 67, of Tahlequah, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Box Cemetery, with Rev. David Robertson officiating.

Pallbearers are Steven Scott, Earl Johnson Jr., Jeff Johnson, Chris Harper, and Clint Johnson.

Eleonore E. (Rettig) Johnson, was born July 9, 1946, in Weinheim, Germany. She passed away on Aug. 25, 2013, in Tahlequah.

Eleonore was raised in Germany, where she completed her high school education. Following graduation, she married Earl Johnson, who was in the military before migrating to America at the age of 18.

As the wife of a U.S. serviceman, she moved from Texas to Colorado, finally settling in Vian. Eleonore became a naturalized citizen in 1995. She then attended Northeastern State University completing her degree in pre-law.

She enjoyed taking care of, and spending time with, her grandchildren. She liked keeping up on current events by regularly watching the local and national news. Eleonore was baptized into the Latter Day Saints Church in 1979.

Eleonore is preceded in death by her parents, Elsa and Franz Ifflander; a daughter, Cindy Johnson who passed as a small child; and in-laws, Ernest and Susie Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Johnson of the home; children, Earl Johnson Jr. also of the home, Michelle Scott and Steven of Welling, and Clint Johnson of Tahlequah; eight grandchildren, Kyndra Johnson, Cheyanne Johnson, Colton Johnson, Jaselynn Johnson and Sabrina Johnson, all of Tahlequah, Nicole White and Nick of California, Dylan Girdner of Tahlequah, and Breanna Scott of Welling; two great-grandchildren, Tristan Stiller and Kharis Tajada both of California; and many other friends and loved ones.
