Memorial services for Carter “Fuzzy” Waldron will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the St. Basil’s Episcopal Church with Mother Debora Jennings officiating. Services were entrusted to Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Carter “Fuzzy” Waldron, the son of Alexander Minty Waldron II and Jane Eyer (Holmes) Waldron, was born March 2, 1946, in Ann Arbor, Mich., and departed this life on Nov. 2, 2013, in Tahlequah, Okla., at the age of 67 years and 8 months.
Fuzzy served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy and spent a tour in Vietnam. He enjoyed life and being involved in his community. He had many friends whom he loved dearly and enjoyed being a part of their lives.
He served his community in many different capacities over the years, including: The Board of Adjustments; Board of County Commissioners; Tahlequah City Council; chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission; and vice chair of the Abatement Board, to name a few. He was a life member of the Owasso Veterans of Foreign Wars and the North American Fishing Club.
He loved the outdoors; he enjoyed kayaking, fishing, shooting, and taking care of his animals. He was a master electrician by trade and enjoyed collecting antique electrical equipment such as breaker boxes, breakers, fuses or just about anything that would start a conversation.
He also collected “Boyd Bears” and was proud of the collection that he had. Fuzzy enjoyed going to the farmer’s market and to the art markets in Tahlequah. He was a fan of the Indian art and enjoyed the different stories behind each piece. He also enjoyed photography and loved to take photographs.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and he loved his grandchildren, sometimes seemingly more than his own children. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Fuzzy touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by a loving family, which includes his daughters Janina Nolan and husband Justin, and Marta Waldron, all of Tahlequah; his brother, Alexander Minty Waldron III and wife Karen of Stephentown, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Kailob Carter Nolan, Thea Maureen Waldron and Gabrial Blain Waldron all of Tahlequah and his “child” Suzie Q, who was his best bud and has been for many years. Four nephews, many friends and other relatives also survive him.
