Daniel W. Graham

TAHLEQUAH — Daniel Webster Graham, 75, of Tahlequah, passed from this life on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in Muskogee.

A graveside memorial service has been planned in his honor for 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at Tahlequah City Cemetery, with Pastor Joe Tschirhart officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Sellers, Ron Ginheimer and Bill Corbett. Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at a visitation scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., at Reed Culver Funeral Home. Online condolences for the family may be posted at www.reedculver.com.

Daniel was born Jan. 16, 1938, in Welling, to Joseph Albert and Nanny (Whitmire) Graham. He made his life in Tahlequah, and in July of 1960 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served proudly for three years.

After returning, he settled back in Tahlequah and continued to serve his country in the Army reserves until 1966.

Daniel worked at downtown Tahlequah restaurants for many years, first at Calico’s restaurant, then at Jerry’s Place, his sister’s restaurant.

Daniel loved to pester people, and was an avid people-watcher. When he wasn’t spending his time pestering others, he could be found listening to his favorite genre of music, bluegrass; he was a big fan of Bill Monroe and had seen him in concert many times.

His friends remember him as a good man who loved his tobacco, and could spot him a mile away by his ever-present white cup.

Daniel loved any time spent with his family.

Daniel attended the First Evangelical Free Church, where he accepted Christ as his savior. He enjoyed his church and loved his church family. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dennis Graham, and one sister, Julie Graham.

Those left to cherish his memories include two nephews, Michael C. Graham and Michael B. Graham; two cousins, Eulamae Miller and Carolyn Whitmire; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.

Reed-Culver Funeral Home, 117 W. Delaware, (918) 456-2551.
