U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn is retiring, which will trigger a mid-term election to replace him. At the same time, Sen. Jim Inhofe is up for re-election. Coburn is generally considered to be conservative as a politician. What type of person, philosophically, should replace him to represent Oklahoma.
Of 86 respondents, most, 49 percent or 42 voters, would like to see someone more liberal than Coburn in the seat. Thirty-three percent, or 28 voters, would like someone similar to Coburn in the Senate. Fifteen percent, or 13 voters, would prefer a more conservative senator and three percent, or three voters, are undecided.
