Summer programs at the Tahlequah library

TAHLEQUAH — The Tahlequah Public Library is offering a number of programs for children of all ages throughout the summer.

The summer reading program, Experiment and Explore, runs Tuesday, June 3 through Thursday, June 26. Participants who sign up receive a book back, reading log and collect book bucks for reading completion. Each Tuesday throughout the program, special visitors teach participants about a variety of subjects. Upcoming programs are held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Carnegie Room of the library, and include Tuesday, June 10, Wayne and Wingnut ventriloquists; Tuesday, June 17, Academy of Performing Arts Irish dancers; Tuesday June 24, Flying Debris, a stunt show, which will only be held at 10 a.m.

On Thursdays, June 3, 10 and 19, come-and-go crafts are available, and movies will be shown at 2:30 p.m.

Baby Bookworms, a program for children birth to 24 months, will be held on Mondays at 10 a.m., June 9 and 16. Toddler Tales for children 2-3 years, takes place on Fridays at 10 a.m. Reading Rockstars, stories and activities for kids 3-6, is held at 11 a.m. on Fridays. A teen summer reading program meets Wednesdays at 3 p.m., June 11, 18 and 25.

A summer reading program closing celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30, Thursday, June 26, and includes science experiments, snacks and activities.
