Hot toys for 2013

TAHLEQUAH — Adults looking to find the hottest toys for little ones this season need look no further than the Internet, as a number of “tests” have already been conducted to determine the ideal gifts for 2013.

The Toy Retailers Association has held its annual Dream Toys event, and the judges chose 50 toys across six categories, deriving a Dream Toys Top 10 list, plus one.

The list includes the Teksta Robotic Puppy, Furby Boom!, the V-Tech InnoTab 35, the LeapPad Ultra, the Robo Fishbowl, the Nerf N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike CS18, LEGO City Coast Guard Patrol, Monopoly Empire, Doc McStuffins Doctor’s Bag Playset, Monster High 13 Wishes dolls, and the Flying Fairy by Flutterbye.

Walmart conducted a similar test in August, in which 1,000 children, ages 18 months to 10 years, chose from 50 different toys over a three-day weekend in Dallas. The children were closely observed, and store officials derived a top-20 toy list from the experiment.

The Walmart list included Disney’s Doc McStuffins Get Better Checkup Center, Air Hogs remote-controlled Helix X4 2.4 GHz Stunt Quad Copter, Disney Planes Dusty Crophopper Wing Control remote-controlled plane, Hot Wheels triple pack Twister Track set, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turltes Secret Sewer Lair play set, Baby Alive Real Suprises baby doll (two varieties), Barbie Dreamhouse, Zoomer the electronic dog, Flutterbye’s Flying Fairy doll, FurReal Friends Cuddles My Giggly Monkey pet, Nerf Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow Blaster, Fisher-Price Imaginext Batcave play set, Fisher Price Little People Fun Sounds  Farm play set, Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Crawl Around Car, Playskool Sesame Street Big Hugs Elmo and Furby Boom!,
