State briefs

STILLWATER — Pär Nilsson, a two-time All-American for the Cowboy golf team, has been named assistant coach for the Oklahoma State women’s program.

Hea coach Courtney Jones announced Nilsson’s appointment on Tuesday. Jones says Nilsson has a great vision for where we can take the program and brings valuable experience to the table.

Nilsson has competed all over the world in both professional and amateur golf. He represented his native Sweden at the World Amateur and is a former All-American at Oklahoma State, where he was a three-time All-Big 12 pick.

Nilssn joins the Cowgirl program after spending the previous three seasons as an assistant for the men’s squad at the University of Denver. During his first season with the program, he helped guide the Pioneers to the Sun Belt Conference title.
