With injury to Oklahoma State starting quarterback Wes Lunt the second question swirling around the team — after the health of Lunt — is having just two quarterbacks suited up enough for the Cowboys?
That question is no longer an issue as Jase Chilcoat, a former walk-on from Midwest City who is still a student at OSU, will be the team's third-string quarterback for the foreseeable future.
Gundy confirmed Tuesday after practice that Chilcoat was rejoining the team and is expected to be with the team in practice on Wednesday.
"We were looking for somebody that knew a little bit about our system, that kind of knew the plays and the routine of what our team goes through during the week," Gundy said.
Gundy also said he is hoping to put Chilcoat on scholarship.
"I'm trying to put him on scholarship. We've got to go through all the paperwork and make sure that he qualifies through compliance because there's a lot of steps you've got to go through," Gundy said. "If it all works out, we should be able to put him on scholarship — which works good for us and it's really great for him."
