Oklahoma pair named All-Big 12 preseason volleyball team

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma volleyball senior Sallie McLaurin has been named a unanimous selection to the 2013 Big 12 Preseason Team as voted on by the league's coaches.

McLaurin, a middle blocker from Midwest City, was an All-Big 12 First Team pick a year ago. She enters her final season with the Sooners ranking fourth among active Big 12 players with 913 career kills. She led OU with 328 kills and a .357 attack rate in 2012 to go with 159 total blocks.

McLaurin is joined by sophomore middle blocker Kierra Holst. Holst, a middle blocker from Coppell, Texas, earned a spot on last season's All-Big 12 Freshman Team. After posting 221 kills as a rookie and 76 blocks, she participated with the USA Volleyball Women's Junior National Team in June.
