Shinn at 3 p.m.: Attention turns to Notre Dame

NORMAN — The buildup for Oklahoma's showdown with Notre Dame officially began after the Sooners' 52-7 victory over Kansas on Saturday night.

OU coach Bob Stoops said it will be biggest game at Owen Field since then top-ranked Nebraska came to Norman in 2000.

The Sooners' won that game 31-14 . The victory allowed them to return to the top of polls in an eventual national championship season.

Top 10 teams haven't made many trips to Norman during Stoops' tenure. The last time it has happened was OU faced then second-ranked Texas Tech on Nov. 22, 2008. OU won that game 65-21.

Before that OU faced Iowa State when it was ranked No. 9 on Oct. 19, 2002. The Sooners won that game, 49-3.
