IRVING, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys have signed running back Joseph Randle, their fifth-round pick, and shuffled the roster of undrafted free agents.
Randle, who skipped his final season at Oklahoma State to enter the draft, signed a four-year contract Monday. The Cowboys also signed three players off the workout roster from rookie minicamp and released three other players.
The Cowboys added offensive linemen Edawn Coughman and D.J. Hall and receiver Anthony Amos on Monday after a three-day minicamp over the weekend.
Dallas released offensive linemen Charlie Bryant and Aderious Simmons and receiver Greg Herd.
Coughman, a tackle from Shaw, and Hall, a guard from Texas State, are second-year players. Amos is a rookie free agent from Middle Tennessee State.
OSU's Green is Big 12 baseball player of week
STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s Gage Green is the Big 12 Conference baseball Player of the Week after leading the Cowboys to two wins over arch-rival Oklahoma.
Green went 7-for-10 in the three-game weekend series against the Sooners.
He drove in what proved to be the winning run in Friday’s game with a two-out eighth inning single. He then scored what proved to be the winning run in Saturday’s game when he stole home with two outs in the eighth.
OSU won both Friday and Saturday’s games by 4-3 scores while OU rallied to win Sunday’s game 5-4.
OU's Lorenzana is Big 12 Newcomer of the Week
NORMAN — University of Oklahoma second baseman Hector Lorenzana has been named the Big 12 Conference’s Newcomer of the Week.
Lorenzana was selected Monday after hitting a home run and driving in six runs during a weekend series with arch-rival Oklahoma State. He was 5-for-11 at the plate and also scored three runs during the three-game series.
OU will host Dallas Baptist on Tuesday then will finish the regular season with a three-game Big 12 series at Kansas State starting Friday.
