OSU, OU players earn Big 12 Player of Week awards

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma State’s Justin Gilbert and Oklahoma’s Jalen Saunders have been named Big 12 players of the week.

Gilbert was named Defensive Player of the Week Monday after intercepting two passes and returning one 43 yards for a touchdown in OSU’s 38-13 win over Texas on Saturday.

Saunders is the co-Special Teams Player of the Week after returning a punt 91 yards for a touchdown in OU’s 48-10 win over Iowa State. He shares the award with Kansas State kicker Jack Cantele.

Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty and Kansas running back James Sims are the conference’s co-Offensive Players of the Week.
