A local man faces charges in district court after allegedly admitting Friday making fraudulent returns while he was working at Wal-Mart.
Shawn Collier, 28, was booked by Tahlequah police after saying he conducted 22 fraudulent refunds. Twelve were to merchandise cards and 10 were to a brother’s Lowe’s credit card. Collier started making the bogus refunds in November 2007 and estimated the amount to be near $30,000. He allegedly told officers he was making the fake cards due to his financial situation.
In an unrelated matter, Hermilio Martinez, 24, was booked Sunday for domestic abuse after allegedly physically assaulting Mariela Lopez, 19. She had visible injuries around an ear.
Angela DeMoss said a vandal had thrown something on her vehicle Saturday. She also filed a report Thursday about her daughter’s camera being gone.
Thomas Trapp filed a report Sunday, indicating his Flourentine Cutaway guitar had been stolen.
Brandon Clayton, 24, was arrested Friday for possession of marijuana and issued a citation for a stop sign violation.
Holly Christie called police Thursday to say something had been poured on her vehicle from an upper floor of her apartment.
William Clayton, 18, was booked Monday for shoplifting at Wal-Mart. Reports state he took condoms and male enhancement lotion and concealed them in his pockets.
Thomas Herrera, 30, was booked Sunday for DUI, transporting an open container, no insurance, no driver’s license and taxes due state. He was driving a vehicle matching the description of one reported as a drunken driver Sunday morning.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested Saturday after allegedly taking CDs from Wal-Mart.
Scott Lawrence filed a report Saturday with police concerning vandals allegedly slashing a tire.
Terry Pierce said Sunday a thief took his chainsaw from the back porch.
Tammy Garner said Sunday she was hit in the face. The suspect then picked up a knife and fought with Garner, and also allegedly tried to hit her with a flashlight.
Bonita Ruiz told officers Saturday her purse was stolen at the Circle S Laundry.
Tires were reported cut Saturday on a PT Cruiser parked at 705 Russell.
Wanda Girty said Saturday two tires were flattened on her vehicle.
Jay Cook filed a report Saturday concerning a flattened tire on a vehicle.
