Police report for Wednesday, Sept. 3 TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — Tahlequah police are investigating an alleged assault reported last Friday. Emily Powell told officers she was assaulted by another woman. Her eye was swollen and her cheek was cut and bleeding. Two boys, 15 and 13, were cited and released to their parents after being picked up by police Sunday for throwing rocks at Kevin Shumate’s vehicle. Two girls, both 16, were arrested Monday after taking make-up, panties and shoes at Wal-Mart. One of the girls allegedly had a marijuana smoking pipe and was also cited for possession of paraphernalia. Charles Jones said Monday someone took his 2002 Chevrolet four-wheel drive truck with a tag number of 10395C. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tommy Mullins later notified the police department that the truck was wrecked and recovered three miles north of the Chewey Store on River Road. The suspect fled the scene on foot. Richard Vasquez said Tuesday a thief took his black 1992 Nissan truck. The truck is missing a front bumper and has a net tailgate. Joshua Buechele said Tuesday he found the ignition switch broken on his vehicle and wires hanging from under the steering wheel.
