Published September 05, 2008 09:48 am - A local man was arrested Tuesday on a drunken driving charge after being involved in a crash. Officer Billy Dowling arrested Eric Avery, 26, for DUI drugs and no insurance. Police report for Friday, Sept. 13 TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — A local man was arrested Tuesday on a drunken driving charge after being involved in a crash. Officer Billy Dowling arrested Eric Avery, 26, for DUI drugs and no insurance. Nicky Dye said Wednesday someone took two fishing poles off his front porch. Lindsey Clay said Thursday morning someone took a purse from her vehicle. The purse had a cell phone, keys, credit cards, Social Security card and a birth certificate in it. An employee of Sooner TV said Tuesday someone attempted to steal a company vehicle. The theft attempt was discovered when an employee got in the vehicle to go to work. Rodney Davis said Wednesday someone broke into his vehicle and took stereo items. Terry Seay was arrested Wednesday by Officer Todd Carnes for shoplifting after allegedly taking two packages of lights and a motion light at Wal-Mart. Tahlequah police are investigating a report of a credit card being opened in another person’s name. Kyle Hendren said Tuesday the suspect made two $5 purchases and failed to make a payment. At this point, a $900 payment is necessary to make the account current. Heather Smith called police Tuesday to Town Branch Eatery after discovering money missing from the drawer along with credit card receipts. She gave officers a description of the suspect. Kristie Edwards told officers Tuesday that a man entered the Love’s Country Store, took a Children’s Miracle Network donation jar off the counter and left. The jar contained about $20 in bills and some change. Robert Webb IV filed a report Tuesday after returning to work and finding two words spray-painted on the wall of his business. Roy Bryant said Monday his American Farmers and Ranchers Insurance Co. office was burglarized. A laptop computer and money were taken.
