Police Beat: Shoplifting rash reported


TAHLEQUAH — One man was arrested early Sunday morning when police responded to a large group fighting in the 300 block of Goingsnake.

Officer Pam Bell arrived at the fight and said everyone involved ran away or left in cars. One Tulsa man, 20-year-old Gunner Purser, was outside the home and was booked into jail for public intoxication. A woman at the fight had to receive medical treatment, officers said.

Renee Bowen, 35, of Stilwell, was arrested last week for allegedly shoplifting from Walmart.

Antonio Chavez, 18, of Tahlequah, was booked into jail early Monday morning for actual physical control.

Karen Haner, 42, of Hulbert, was booked into jail for shoplifting from Walmart Saturday evening.

Jodie L. Morgan, 28, of Park Hill, was arrested Sunday night after she allegedly tried to conceal merchandise at Walmart and leave without paying.

Cady Williams, 21, and Caroline R. Buffalomeat, 24, both of Tahlequah, were arrested Sunday morning for domestic assault.

A juvenile was arrested Saturday for stealing from Walmart.

Police spoke with Scott Whittle on Saturday after Whittle received harassing and threatening phone calls. Whittle told police he may know the suspect who made the threats.

Officers went to the 100 block of Morgan Street Thursday night and found a man suffering from narcotics reaction. The suspect was taken for medical treatment.

Employees at Walmart called police last week after shoplifters left the store when they were confronted.

Jennifer Johnson spoke with officers Sunday after a man entered her home uninvited and assaulted her.

Kenneth Stanwick filed a theft report last week.

Employees at Best Western told police they were threatened over the weekend.
