Three arrested with stolen property

TAHLEQUAH — Three people were arrested last week after they were allegedly caught with stolen property.

Sheriff’s deputies responded when witnesses reported suspects loading property into a truck. Deputies spotted the truck and stopped it, and found 34-year-old Michael James Desantis, of Tahlequah, behind the wheel.

Desantis allegedly told deputies he had been given permission to be on the property, which he had been told was abandoned. Desantis’ truck was full of various items, deputies said.

Sheriff’s investigators confirmed Desantis and the passengers – 54-year-old Paul Donald Conley and 24-year-old Matthew Alan Murray – did not have permission to take the items.

All three were booked into jail for possession of stolen property. Deputies said $10,000 to $12,000 worth of property had been collected.
