Sheriff's Beat: Three seen on video stealing from Speedy’s

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies responded Sunday after three people broke into Speedy’s on State Highway 51 east of Tahlequah.

Deputies said the door was busted out and three male subjects entered the store several times, taking cigarettes and potato chips. Deputies said the suspects can be seen on surveillance footage, and also left muddy footprints on the floor and counter.

James Steelman told deputies last week about the destruction of private property.

Stormie Holcomb reported the theft of a gun safe, two Savage firearms, a Ruger, and a Toshiba laptop computer last week.

Chelsea Campbell reported the destruction of private property last week.

Maggie Rogers and Vicki Haynes both told deputies about the burglary of storage units recently.

Paris Pierce told deputies her phone was stolen last Thursday.

Shirley Jones reported the theft of a John Deere riding mower Saturday.

Amber Lyman told deputies she was assaulted last week.

Trent Mauldin filed an assault report with deputies last week.

Clarissa Walker told deputies her home was burglarized this month, and the suspect took TVs, a saddle, a DVD player, movies, clothes and other items.

Randy Wikel Jr. filed a stolen-trailer report last week.
