Tahlequah man arrested for trying to pass false prescription

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police arrested a local man Monday after he allegedly passed a false prescription at Walgreen’s on Downing Street.

Steve M. Brickey, 27, of Tahlequah, was taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center when he provided a prescription for Lortabs. Police said the quantity had been altered from 30 pills to 80 pills.

Police on Monday arrested 19-year-old Jennie S. Washington, of Tahlequah, and 28-year-old Cody R. Hawkins, of Muskogee, for allegedly taking more than $50 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

Nicola Meikle filed a report about threats she received through text message, and said she has also been harassed through phone calls.

Employees took a report this week when a woman threatened to burn down Stepp Mobile Home.

Police spoke to employees of Stuteville Ford this week after a bank bag was determined to be $1,000 short when taken to a local bank.

Employees of the Speckled Hen reported shoplifters Sunday.

Brad Tullis told police this week that a residence on West Shawnee was vandalized and about $3,000 worth of tools were stolen.
