Cherokee County prosecutors have filed charges against a Welling man who allegedly acted as if he was going to throw a rock at officers last month.
Royce Feuge, 32, is charged with assault on a police officer and resisting an officer.
Tahlequah police arrested Feuge on May 22 when Feuge allegedly trespassed at the city pool. Feuge had previously been banned from the pool property, and when Tahlequah Police Chief Nate King arrived, Feuge allegedly grabbed a rock and acted as though he intended to throw it at King. Officers eventually tried to arrest Feuge, who pulled away and refused to comply, police said.
Both charges are misdemeanors. Assault on a police office is punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $500; resisting an officer is punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $500. Feuge was given a $10,000 bond after his arrest.
