Area man jailed for assault

TAHLEQUAH — A 40-year-old Peggs man was jailed this week after he allegedly assaulted a woman and a teenager.

Frankie Joe Rodriguez was booked into jail for domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor, assault and battery on a minor, and destruction of private property.

Rodriguez allegedly admitted to Deputy Josh Girdner he got angry at his wife and began to scream at her before he punched a hole in the wall. When he was leaving, he crossed paths with a 17-year-old and grabbed him by the throat before shoving the teen backward.

Rodriguez’s wife told deputies her husband bumped into her with his chest, causing her to fall, before he grabbed the 17-year-old and shoved him.
