Two Tahlequah men were jailed Saturday after police conducted a traffic stop and discovered stolen property.
Samuel Rodriguez, 23, was booked into jail for driving under the influence, no driver’s license and knowingly concealing stolen property; and Renato Hernandez, 39 was booked for knowingly concealing stolen property, public intoxication, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a valid prescription.
Tahlequah Sgt. Jason Girdner said he stopped a truck driven by Rodriguez and smelled alcohol on the driver. During an inventory of the vehicle, officers located several unopened cell phones, a Blu-Ray player, and a laptop computer that appeared to have a security cable that had been cut. Girdner said employees at Walmart had reported a laptop missing from the store’s display. Girdner said Hernandez had a pill bottle with hydrocodone pills, and a bag of synthetic marijuana. The pill bottle had been filled on Dec. 24 with 120 pills, and had only 13 left when the men were arrested Saturday.
