Traffic stop prompts Lawton man’s arrest

— Tahlequah police arrested a Lawton man early Sunday morning after a traffic stop near Burger King.

Officer Pam Bell said she was patrolling when she noticed a white car drive into the outside curb near Muskogee and Ballentine. Malique Marshall, 19, was stopped and arrested for driving under the influence.

Officer Jake Keys arrested J. Carmen Mendoza-Tovar, 64, of Tahlequah, on Saturday for DUI.

Jimmy D. Briggs Jr., 33, of Tahlequah, was arrested Friday after he allegedly committed an assault. Officer Cody Warren said Briggs threatened to harm Warren when Briggs got out of jail.

Police arrested Steven Fishinghawk, 35, of Tahlequah, last week for DUI.

Cory A. Gwin, 23, Tahlequah, was arrested Saturday for petit larceny after allegedly shoplifting at Hit-N-Run.

Blake Cantrell, 23, of Tahlequah, was arrested Saturday morning for DUI.

Police spoke to Heather Estes Friday night after she reported a disturbance on West First Street.

Employees at Hibbetts reported a shoplifter Friday.

Shawn James told police Friday about an assault.

Jamie Stout reported a man violating a protective order last week.

Jeremiah Dover told police recently that his truck tires were cut.

Melissa Collins told police her wallet was stolen Friday.

Justin Gifford spoke with officers Friday when his vehicle’s tires were cut and windows shattered.
