Cherokee County woman nabbed for odd behavior

TAHLEQUAH — Sheriff’s deputies arrested a local woman Friday after she began to act “abnormal” at a Cherokee County home.

Sheila Dawn Wright, 30, was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and disturbing the peace.

Callers told deputies Wright was at a home rolling around on the floor naked. When deputies arrived, Wright was still on the floor naked, and continued rolling around when she was told to get dressed. After several attempts, Wright was able to put clothes on.

Deputies said she was “speaking randomly,” and wasn’t making sense. They later found a small bag of a white, powdery substance near her bed. The substance was logged in as evidence.
