Sheriff's Beat: Woman jailed for domestic assault, battery

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman last week after she allegedly assaulted a man.

Deputies said Susan Dianne Seals, 48, punched a man in the presence of officers. She was booked for domestic assault and battery.

Stephanie Washington filed a harassment report Friday.

Employees at the Log Store south of Tahlequah told deputies a man tried to take a 30-pack of beer, but only got away with two cans from the box.

Jerry Lenard reported a home being vandalized last week.

Kreg Dodson spoke with deputies after his shop was burglarized Friday or Saturday. Dodson said the items missing include a Snap-on plasma cutter, a Snap-on air compressor, a blue welding hood, three aluminum car jacks, two drills, and more.

Mary Hernandez reported her vehicle stolen Sunday, and Deputy Michael Cates later spotted the truck abandoned near Woodall.

Krista Smith reported the violation of a protective order Sunday.

Nancy Osburn reported vandalism Sunday.
